Communism
Negative

In defense of the socialism/communism way/view true socialism has never been experienced. Socialism as a philosophy “would” work really well. But note the “would”. Why did I say would “would?” Well to understand the “would” we must understand the “what”. What is true socialism? Well simple put it is unfettered cooperation. It “would” run on cooperation to help others. It “would” rely on others helping others. The closest we come to true socialism is Iceland. There’s a country that we don’t hear about much. A close friend went to Iceland recently, when she came back she told me that it was much different then here in America. People could leave their kids outside to play while they go shopping and strangers would baby-sit their children. People would help complete strangers when they were in need. Iceland’s banking system is second only to that of Switzerland. Their economy is still doing well. Now keep in mind that I am not arguing in support of socialism I am hoping to show you that true socialism is not what we see today. Now the question begs to be asked “what happened to true socialism”. Well the answer is simple and one word long “competition”. Humans are inherently wicked and look primarily look out for their own good. When power is given to a person, most people will try gain for their own good. So, naturally, when power is such to the extent that we have seen in the socialist socialites today the leader is corrupted. This will not change. But what we need to know and understand it that this only happens because of competitive leadership. So I guess you can say socialism is only what competition makes it.
I’ve been told that socialism is communism without a gun. Under this reasoning we can clearly see that communism is only a more competitive and extremely dangerous version of socialism. Competition corrupts. Competition took a good minded philosophy and made it what it is viewed as today. How did competition harm socialism? Well, one or a few leaders are competing to try to get as much money for them selves and are thus are competing with the masses of their own gain. If the leaders would look out for the good of the masses not the good of their selves, as socialism was meant, then we “would” see a much different socialism. George Orwell once said “As with the Christian religion , the worst advertisement for Socialism is its adherents.” This quote further illustrates my point. We have only seen socialism corrupted, not socialism perfected.
